The Dogs Paddocks Guide to Autumn Adventures You Can Actually Enjoy With Your Dog
Pumpkin patches, crunchy leaves, spooky trails, hot drinks, muddy paws and far too many autumn photographsβ¦ πππΆ
Autumn is one of ourfavourite times of year at The Dogs Paddocks, but finding a genuinely dog-friendly autumn day out isn't always as easy as it sounds...
Lots of attractions describe themselves as dog friendly, but when you look a little closer, you discover that dogs are only allowed in certain outdoor areas, around the car park or perhaps beside the cafΓ©
Then you reach the actual pumpkin patch or Halloween trail and find out your four-legged family member isn't allowed in!
That's not what we're looking for!
So we've done the digging for you and put together our guide to some of the best dog-friendly pumpkin patches, Halloween trails and autumn experiences across Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Warrington, Shropshire and nearby for 2026
And we have one very important rule:
πΎ If dogs can't enjoy the main attraction, it doesn't make the list!
Every attraction featured below has been chosen because dogs can actually be part of the experience βwhether that's wandering through the pumpkin patch or joining you on a spookytrail. A few of these were also recommended to us by followers after we first shared our guide on Facebook β so thank you to everyone who helped us discover even more dog-friendly autumn adventures π§‘

βπSTAFFORDSHIRE & A LITTLE FURTHER A FIELD
π Pumpkin Village at National Forest Adventure Farm β Burton upon Trent
π National Forest Adventure Farm, Tatenhill, Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire, DE13 9SJ
π
Selected dates throughout October 2026, beginning 3 October
πΆ Dogs ARE welcome at Pumpkin Village
π· Dog tickets: Β£2
ποΈ Advance booking required
This one nearly didn't make our list!
National Forest Adventure Farm's normal policy is that dogs aren't allowed on the farm, so initially we thought we'd have to leave it out
Then one of our followers commented to say she'd taken her dog pumpkin picking there last year β complete with photographic evidence! πΆππΈ
So we investigated further and discovered something very important:
π Pumpkin Village is a special dog-friendly exception!
For this particular Adventure Farm event, dogs ARE allowed, with a Β£2 dog ticket added alongside a full-paying adult ticket
That means your dog can join you at Pumpkin Village and explore the autumn experience alongside you
The event includes access to the pumpkin fields, seasonal stalls, photo opportunities, live entertainment and roaming characters, with pumpkins available to purchase separately
There are a couple of restrictions worth knowing: dogs aren't permitted inside the Farmhouse Kitchen, Soft Play or Animal Barn
But importantly for our rule, they can join you for the main Pumpkin Village experience
At a glance
π Explore the pumpkin fields
π Dogs welcome specifically for Pumpkin Village
πΈ Loads of autumn photo opportunities
π Roaming characters
πΆ Live entertainment
π Seasonal stalls
π΄ Autumn food & drink
π Free on-site parking
πΎ The Dogs Paddocks verdict: βββββ
It's a little further afield for our North West followers, but it's unusual enough to deserve a place on the list β particularly because Pumpkin Village makes a specific exception to the farm's normal no-dogs policy
And thank you to the follower who pointed this one out to us β you were absolutely right! πΎπ§‘
Booking: Advanced booking is essential

βπΎ Before You Set Off...
We've checked the information available for the 2026 season when putting this guide together, but event dates, ticket availability and dog policies can change
We therefore always recommend checking directly with the attraction before making a special journeyβ particularly if you're travelling with more than one dog or visiting with areactive, nervous or very excitable dog
And remember that most pumpkin patches are working farms
Autumn + fields + British weather usually equals MUD! π
Wellies, towels for muddy paws and a boot liner are probably sensible additions to the packing list

βππΎ HAVE WE MISSED ONE?
This guide actually got bigger after we first shared it with our Facebook community, with followers recommending more places they'd visited with their own dogs
So we're sure there are more hidden gems out there!
Do you know of a genuinely dog-friendly pumpkin patch, Halloween trail or autumn event in the North West or nearby?
We don't just mean somewhere that allows dogs around the grounds
We want places where the DOG gets to join in too! πΆ
Send The Dogs Paddocks a message or tag us in your autumn adventures and we'll keep adding our favourites to this guide throughout the 2026 season
And if you visit one ofthe places we've featured, we'd LOVE to see your photos πΈπΎπ
Happy Autumn from all of us at The Dogs Paddocks! π
EVERYTHING is better with a dog....πΎ
